Would you like to work in an organisation that sits in the top 10 best NHS Mental Health, Learning Disability and Community Services Trusts to work for? This ranking is based on staff feedback in the 2023 NHS Staff Survey. Job Overview
Are you a nurse interested in a career in Substance Misuse? Are you motivated to help service users engage in their recovery journey? Are you a car owner/driver? Are you flexible and proactive? We are offering a Band 5/6 development opportunity as a Substance Misuse Nurse working in our community detoxification team. The postholder will primarily be based in Redhill but will require travel to other sites. The role will focus on working with the i-access detoxification team to provide pharmacological and therapeutic interventions. There will also be opportunities to carry a caseload and work with service users at various points in their treatment journey with i-access. Main Duties of the Job
The post involves working as part of the i-access detoxification team, which specializes in assessing, planning, and delivering pharmacological and psychotherapeutic detoxification interventions across Surrey. You will have the opportunity to facilitate therapeutic groups alongside the core nursing aspects of this role. Additionally, there is an opportunity to carry a small community caseload to deliver interventions and coordinate service users' journeys through the i-access treatment pathways. A strong interest in networking across various organizations, including acute hospitals, social services, mental health services, and non-statutory support providers, would be advantageous. We are looking for dynamic nurses who have a genuine interest in and empathy for people with drug and alcohol addiction. This post is based at Wingfield Resource Centre, Redhill, with an expectation to travel to various sites, including acute hospitals, to deliver interventions and liaise with professional colleagues. The successful applicants will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and an understanding of the problems faced by people with substance misuse issues. Although the role is advertised as a developmental role, successful applicants who have the required experience and skills will be considered for the Band 6 position. Working for Our Organisation
