Are you a nurse interested in a career in Substance Misuse? Are you motivated to help service users engage in their recovery journey? Are you a car owner/driver? Are you flexible? Are you proactive? Would you like an opportunity to join our exciting and innovative Specialist Substance Misuse Service? I-access is seen as a forward-thinking and innovative service. It has been a high-performing service for many years and has remained in the NHS since it started over 3 decades ago. Quality standards are a high priority for the service and for Surrey County Council. We are offering a Band 5/6 development opportunity as a Substance Misuse Nurse working in our community detoxification team. The postholder will primarily be based in Redhill but there will be requirements to travel to other sites at times. The role will primarily be working with the i-access detoxification team to provide pharmacological and therapeutic interventions. There will also be opportunities to carry a caseload and work with services users who are at other points in their treatment journey with i-access. Main duties of the job

The post involves working as part of the i-access detoxification team. Having a strong interest in networking across various organisations, including acute hospitals, social services, mental health services, and various non-statutory support providers would be an advantage. We are looking for dynamic nurses who have a genuine interest in and empathy for people with a drug and alcohol addiction. We have 1 post for candidates who are comfortable travelling to and working in a variety of settings. This post is based currently at Wingfield Resource Centre, Redhill. There is an expectation to travel to various sites, including acute hospitals, to deliver interventions and liaise with professional colleagues. The successful applicants will have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as an understanding of problems faced by people with substance misuse issues. Although the role is advertised as a developmental role, any successful applicants who have the required experience and skills will be considered for the Band 6. Working for our organisation
