But it’s so much more than that. We’re dreamers, big-thinkers, innovators and builders, building a clean, fair and affordable energy future for all. But it’s no early feat, and we’re looking for the best to join us in our mission, to deliver net zero for Great Britain. Back in November 2024, we announced our plans to invest around £60billion across the next five years, which means by the end of the decade, we will be supporting more than 60,000 additional jobs in the UK and across our northeast US business. There really has never been a better time to work in energy! Who We're Looking For?

As our network grows, we’re looking for a wide range of new colleagues across all our teams nationwide, whether that’s engineers to maintain or connect new assets; operate or manage our network or provide us with the cyber resilience we need; or colleagues that can problem solve and manage risks supporting our new projects as part of The Great Grid Upgrade . We have opportunities for those who are early in their careers to experienced senior professionals, where you will work on £multi-billion nationally significant projects, that are groundbreaking in terms of capability and investment and which will support you to superpower your career. And though what we deliver is important, how we deliver it is just as important. We’re passionate about our core values, to Do the Right Thing, to Find a Better Way and to Make It Happen. Because living our values and doing the right thing is about ensuring everyone is respected and can bring their whole, authentic self to work, enabling us all to fulfil our potential and find better ways to work together and make it happen and deliver our ambitions. It’s our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion; how we help our employees learn and grow; and how we partner with and support the communities where we live and work. It’s all this, and so much more. And this is driven from the top, by our Chief Executive, John Pettigrew who “fundamentally believes that it's our people that make National Grid such a great place to work and ensuring that we create the right environment to allow everyone to be themselves and to thrive.” And we continue to strive to drive progress in gender equality and are proud that our efforts are beingrewarded across the globe.
