About Your Role: As an Allara Support Worker you will play a key role empowering the people we support, to be part of the community, to live independently & to live their best life. We currently have positions available for our Penrith and Blacktown disability accommodation sites. We work with participants with varying needs from physical support, intellectual support, social support, mental health & challenging behaviors. Duties May Include: High Intensity Behavioral Supports Behaviour support and skill development Assistance with daily life activities Management of restrictive practices Assistance with personal care tasks Assistance with capacity building tasks Assistance with household tasks such as cleaning, laundry and meal preparation Administration of medication Community participation, including support to get to and from community access activities Assistance with travel / transport Sleepover shifts as required Who Are You: We are only as good as our people! You will need to be / have the following: Experience with High Complex Behaviours Experience with Autism Spectrum (All Levels) Experience with Intellectual Disabilities (All Levels) Experience with Complex Trauma Experience with restrictive practices Experience managing and de-escalating incidents while remaining calm and confident Experiences working with Participants with verbal and or physical aggression Highly engaging and proactive approach Fluent English communication skills Ability to follow protocol and procedures Documentation and Data Collection Driver's license, reliable vehicle and comprehensive insurance Comfortable with providing personal care Flexible availability & ability to work across different shifts including morning, evening, weekends, and sleepovers Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or relevant industry experience (highly desirable) NDIS Worker Screening Clearance & Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain) NSW Police Check (through Service NSW) Current CPR and First Aid Certificate Strong desire to support people with a disability to increase and maintain independence Positive, energetic and a 'can-do' attitude with a passion for working with people DESIRABLE but not required: Mapa or PASS behaviour trained (highly valued but not essential) If you would like to join our amazing team of Support Workers, please hit the APPLY button now.
