Hours: Permanent, Full time

What will you be responsible for?

As a Supervisor, you'll be working within the Planned Works team, supporting them to deliver reactive works elements of highways maintenance activities on the Somerset highways termservice contract, this role will oversee the timely development / delivery of planned maintenance.

Your day to day will include:

Assisting the Planned Works Manager in the programming, management and delivery of planned works

Daily allocation and supervision of works and resources ensuring compliance with program and the maintenance requirement plan, helping with emergency response, organising remedial repairs, undertaking site inductions, briefings, toolbox talks and maintaining records relating to these

Actively promoting health and safety in the workplace, setting a good example to other employees and ensuring awareness of and compliance with general health and safety responsibilities as set out in the health and safety management system (SHEMS)

Understanding and implementing the Somerset IMS so teams are following processes and procedures

Liaising with the client, members of the public and other key stakeholders including the emergency services where required, communicating with the Fleet / Transport Manager checking maintenance of vehicles and plant is up to date

You can lead and motivate teams successfully, with experience working within the highways industry including knowledge of network operations and scheme delivery

Hold an SSSTS or higher, can drive and hold a full driving licence

Are able to communicate with a range of stakeholders
