2pm - 7pm four days a week (20 hours) with alternate weekend working

Sussex Grange is a privately owned Residential Care Home in Selsey. We are a smaller, family oriented home with 20 beds.

The Candidate

We're not looking for the next Nigella or Jamie (although either are welcome) but we are looking for a

motivated

and

reliable ,

happy person

who can work their way round a kitchen and

prepare light snacks and meals .

This is an exciting role for you to manage your own little slice of kitchen and team!

You will be supported at supper time by a small but incredible team of young workers; you will be actively involved in supporting them to learn and develop in their role working towards your standards.

Ideally, we would appreciate someone who has some flexibility / availability to cover during times of absence/holiday.

The Role

Your role

will be to work autonomously and as part of a bigger kitchen team to provide excellent nutritious food and snacks and promote and provide good hydration to our wonderful residents.

Your typical shift will include:

Preparing and delivering drinks to the residents (so you will need to be a jolly and caring individual)

Cooking or preparing a light supper (Typically a hot and cold choice)

Preparing special diet meals in accordance with instructions from the care staff

Fresh bakes

Meal service - ensuring quality throughout

Preparing and cleaning the dining area

Maintain the standard of health and hygiene as instructed by the manager

Contribution to menu planning and shopping

Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen at all times. Adhering to the cleaning rota.

Assist with support and development of your kitchen assistants

Seeking feedback from residents and actioning where needed

The role will include alternate weekend working.

We are not asking for any professional qualifications, but you should be able to demonstrate absolute confidence around the kitchen with food prep, cooking and cleanliness and a willingness to undertake training at our expense.
