Role Overview: Supplier Development Engineer The Supplier Development Engineer will be responsible for improving and developing the supply chain. This includes qualifying new components, supporting ongoing production issues, developing new suppliers, and optimizing supplier performance to reduce costs and increase capacity. Key Responsibilities Develop product control plans with KPIs for key suppliers Design and implement supplier development strategies Drive the adoption of Lean techniques and best practices at supplier sites Collaborate with internal teams to ensure supplier performance aligns with company standards Measure and improve supplier quality and delivery performance Conduct regular business reviews with key suppliers Manage supplier non-conformance and ensure corrective actions are implemented Support internal audits and supplier audits as needed Required Skills and Experience Right to live and work in the UK Experience in developing supply chain programs for quality, cost, and delivery Familiarity with tools such as Control Plans, PFMEAs, KPIs, SPC, Process Mapping Strong team player with excellent communication and relationship-building skills Self-driven and able to meet deadlines while managing time effectively Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word and Excel Experience with MRP or ERP systems is desirable Qualifications AS9100 Auditor or fully trained ISO Auditor Full UK driving license Technical qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ) Security clearance (desirable) HNC or HND in Engineering Benefits Excellent pension and life assurance Free on-site parking Career development opportunities 34 days holiday (including bank holidays) Health cash plan and wellness services Employee discount scheme and assistance program Profit-sharing and recognition schemes Our client is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where employees can grow and thrive, offering opportunities for professional development in a respectful environment.
