The position is permanent, and the preferred location is in Havant, but hybrid working arrangements are possible. As Supplier Quality Engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities: Undertaking supplier Quality Management System audits for approval purposes and working with suppliers to close out any audit findings. Building close relationships across the supply chain including establishing forums with strategic suppliers to support supplier development activities. Working closely with the Quality, Purchasing and Engineering teams to support the Supply Chain in meeting Wärtsilä project, product and documentation requirements. Supporting value engineering and manufacturing process assessment and development activities. Supporting Advance Product Quality Planning and Design for Manufacture and Assembly activities with suppliers. Managing supplier quality issues in conjunction with key stakeholders. Ensuring effective containment, corrective action and problem resolution for all supplier related non-conformances. Managing the supplier performance review processes including escalation, recovery planning and management reporting. Supporting the wider Quality function as part of a coordinated approach towards improving quality and advocating a continuous improvement culture. To be successful in this role, we expect you to have: Background and relevant experience in Supplier Quality Assurance and/or Quality Engineering. Strong auditing skills. Good understanding of supply chain processes. Ability to build relationships with suppliers. Experience of manufacturing and ERP systems. Experience of driving root cause analysis and corrective/preventative actions. Good technical engineering knowledge, including ability to understand engineering drawings and standards. The ability to communicate clearly and confidently in spoken English, and the ability to read and write complex technical documents in written English. Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to represent the company professionally, sharing ideas and information clearly at all levels. In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers around the world. Thus, we hope you are ready to travel approximately 20%, even though most of the meetings are held virtually.
