Supplier Quality Engineer
to join their team based in South Shields on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of our client's supply chain, ensuring that their products continue to meet the highest standards of excellence.
The Job you'll do
As Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the quality of components and materials provided by suppliers, along with leading continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain. Conducting quality assessments and audits of suppliers to ensure compliance with company and industry standards. Evaluate new suppliers and conduct periodic audits of existing suppliers to assess performance. Ensure that incoming materials and components meet required specifications through inspection and testing. Collaborate with suppliers to drive continuous improvement initiatives, improving product quality and reducing costs. Maintain records of quality assessments, audits, and corrective actions.
About the successful Supplier Quality Engineer
Experienced in supplier quality engineering, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments, with attention to detail and good communication skills.
About You
Knowledge of quality management systems and industry standards. Proficiency in quality tools such as FMEA, 8D, SPC and PPAP. Familiarity with hydrodynamic bearing technologies or similar manufacturing processes. HNC in Engineering, Quality Management or a related field. Ability to travel to supplier sites both in the UK and internationally.
