Join us on an 18-month fixed term contract as a Supplier Quality Engineer based at our Dandenong Manufacturing Site. Our Dandenong Manufacturing Site is the heart of rolling stock production in Victoria. In this role, you will bring your strong knowledge of metallic commodities to assist with all phases of quality management. Your future role: Responsible for Non-Conformity day-to-day management, ensuring reactivity to inform supplier of Non-Conformity Report (NCR), to replace defective parts and to implement securization. Secure in a timely manner strong and complete supplier containment actions plan to secure the Manufacturing line. Check the effectiveness of the corrective and preventive action plan of the Supplier, ask for evidences, challenge them and perform supplier’s visit. Ensure control plan sustainability (regular follow-up on main suppliers). Prepare and monitor supplier Quality review at unit level to tackle the Top issues. Ensure appropriate control keys (and rules associated) are implemented in the ERP system, with clear and documented sampling rules, dynamically defined and updated. Ensure inspection instructions/checklists are defined and available for Incoming Inspectors. Establish and manage the process for maintaining and storing records at Incoming Inspection. Ensure Incoming Inspectors comply with procedures for inspection, tool calibration, storage of records, NCR characterization and ERP transactions. Complete inspections within allocated target lead time and ensure priority inspections are completed on time. Ensure set up and implementation of continuous performance improvement actions with a regular analysis of downward trend in quantity of NCRs detected after incoming inspection during the production cycle (non-functional issues only). All about you: Bachelor’s degree in Quality or Engineering or equivalent. Familiar with supplier qualifications standards (ISO, ASME, IRIS, Local Standards, etc.). Experience managing supplier relationships is a plus. Experience using SAP or similar computer applications. We value passion and attitude over experience.
