Supplier Quality Engineer

to join our team and ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. Duties: Approval and set up of new parts via the PPAP (Production Part Approval Process). Work with suppliers to overcome problems. This process ensures appropriate controls are in place including inspection plans, SPC, etc. Work with the commodity buyers to find new suppliers when required. This can be driven by new parts or by a need to find alternative suppliers. Approval of new suppliers; work with the relevant commodity buyer to select new suppliers. This can be driven by demand for new parts or to expand our supplier capacity. Conduct supplier audits both on-site and remotely; work with suppliers on audit improvement plans. Material compliance; ensure the material content meets legal and customer requirements including Full Material Disclosures (FMD) and submit data via supplier templates. Review supplier corrective actions following rejections; work with suppliers on root cause and preventative actions. Supplier visits (mainly UK) to help them develop and improve; have a detailed understanding of their manufacturing and supply chain processes. Manage the parts rejection process when parts do not meet specification or functionality. Deal with customer complaints relating to the purchased parts; investigate root cause, provide feedback to the customer, and implement corrective and preventative actions. Minimum Qualifications: Diploma in Quality Management, Professional Certificate in Quality Management, or Level 4 Certificate in Quality Assurance. Dimensional measurement techniques. Analytical skills. Problem-solving techniques, 8D, etc. Interpretation of Engineering Drawings. ERP/MRP systems experience. Experience in quality management or quality assurance.
