Supply Chain Manager

to join our client’s senior leadership team and take ownership of their supply chain operations. This is a pivotal role that will drive efficiency, compliance, and strategic sourcing to support the company’s ambitious growth trajectory. Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Development

Lead and inspire a team of buyers, goods inwards, and stores personnel, promoting collaboration and high performance. Build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement in alignment with company objectives. Provide guidance, training, and professional development opportunities to enhance team capabilities. Strategic Supply Chain Management

Design and implement a supply chain strategy that aligns with business goals and supports future scalability. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with defence industry standards, including JOSCAR Helios certification. Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and enhanced service levels. Export Logistics and Global Distribution

Manage export logistics to ensure compliance with international trade regulations and deliver exceptional customer service. Collaborate with logistics providers to optimise the global distribution network. Outsourcing and Supplier Management

Develop a clear make-or-buy framework to guide outsourcing decisions. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, including those in low-cost regions, ensuring high quality and ethical standards. Oversee external production partnerships to meet delivery and quality expectations. Operational Excellence

Oversee all aspects of procurement, inventory management, and distribution. Establish KPIs to measure supply chain performance and drive continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with regulatory, ethical, and sustainability standards across the supply chain. Collaboration and Reporting

Work closely with senior stakeholders to align supply chain activities with production and sales objectives. Deliver regular updates on supply chain performance, risks, and opportunities for improvement. About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring: Proven experience as a Supply Chain Manager within an industrial SME, managing procurement and operational teams. Advanced knowledge of ERP systems, with EFACS experience being highly desirable. A strong understanding of export logistics and international trade compliance. The ability to develop and implement effective supply chain strategies tailored to business needs. Familiarity with compliance requirements in the defence industry, including JOSCAR Helios certification. Demonstrated success in make-or-buy analysis and sourcing from low-cost regions. Exceptional leadership, analytical, and communication skills. A proactive, solutions-focused approach in a fast-paced environment.
