Hereford area . What is emergency cover? As best as they can, schools will always try to pre-book any supply cover they need, sometimes days or weeks ahead. But unforeseen changes in their staffing levels can happen quickly, and on-the-day cover is needed. Schools will ring us any time from 7am-8:30am letting us know their requirements for that day. That is when we would call you, our emergency cover supply teacher/cover supervisor, and offer you the work we have for that day. You will be covering lessons for the absent member of staff. Lessons will already be pre-planned and prepared. The lessons could be in one subject area or in different subjects throughout the day. We know emergency cover doesn’t work for everyone, so if you are looking for supply work, but emergency, on-the-day cover doesn’t work for you, we would still like to hear from you! We also have opportunities for staff looking for advanced bookings, short-term roles, long-term roles, and permanent posts. Benefits This is a great opportunity to gain experience working in different schools in your area and build relationships with them. Flexibility: we work with you, offering you work around your availability. If you’re available 1 day a week, part-time, full-time, or have changing availability, it’s not a problem! A weekly, competitive rate of pay. Working in school hours (usually 8:30-3:30). No work to take home at the end of the day. What are your responsibilities: Supervising work that has been set in accordance with the school’s policy. Managing classroom behaviour. Ensuring that the pre-set work is completed by students. Returning the completed work to the appropriate teacher or staff member. Where appropriate, reporting back on students’ behaviour during the class using the school’s agreed referral procedure.
