The Planned Care Service Group are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and suitably qualified Support Medical Secretary to support the ENT Service. The post holder will be required to work on their own initiative within a team and demonstrate excellent typing, flexibility, communication and organisational skills. The post holder must be IT literate and it would be an advantage if the post holder was familiar with NHS information systems such as WPAS (Myrddin). Main duties of the job

Plan own day to day tasks and duties. Undertake routine typing and audio typing of clinical correspondence. Provide secretarial support to a multidisciplinary team. Manage Day Case waiting list. Prioritise results and organise clinical activity. Liaise with patients, General Practitioners and other Health Boards/Trusts to arrange ongoing treatment and care. About us

Follow and comply with all University Health Board policies and procedures. Person Specification

Qualifications and/or Knowledge

3 GCSEs or equivalent. NVQIII Business Administration or willingness to work towards. RSAII Typing or equivalent relevant experience. ECDL or equivalent. Ability to transfer IT skills to new applications. Medical terminology. Knowledge of Myrddin, WCCIS, FACE & NWIS IT systems. Experience

Experience of working in an office environment. Experience of using databases. Has previously worked in the NHS or similar environment. Experience of working as part of a team. Aptitude and Abilities

Good communication and listening skills. Excellent organisational skills. Flexible in approach to work and duties to meet the needs of the service. Ability to speak Welsh. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
