Our amazing team in Dumbarton is searching for an enthusiastic and caring colleague to join them as a Support Practitioner. Whether you’re just starting out or looking for a new challenge, we have up to 39-hour contracts available.
No previous care experience? No problem! We hire based on your values and transferable skills. Plus, we’ll provide you with all the training you need, including the chance to gain your SVQ qualification and grow your career with us.
The Role
The people we support have unique interests and passions that make every day exciting and different. Whether it’s attending clubs, enjoying a quiet moment at the library, catching up with friends over lunch, or even taking trips away, you’ll have the chance to help them stay connected and live life to the fullest. Your support will make a meaningful impact by reducing social isolation, promoting independence, and building confidence. The individuals we support have a range of needs, including mental health challenges, autism, learning disabilities, acquired brain injuries, and behaviours of concern. As a Support Practitioner, you’ll play a vital role in assisting with daily living tasks like meal preparation, medication, attending appointments, and managing finances. You’ll also support with moving and handling, personal care, and building emotional well-being. Beyond the practical tasks, you’ll help support meaningful relationships with family, friends, and the wider community. Some individuals even have their own mobility cars and love going for drives to explore new places! While having a full UK manual driving license is a bonus, it’s not essential to join our incredible team.
To be an amazing Support Practitioner, we’ll need you to: Have an empathetic and caring nature. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Confidence in using computers. Be able to work well in a team environment and on your own. Good organisational skills. Shift Patterns Our dedicated team provide support 7 days a week and shift patterns include earlies, days and lates. During your shift you may be providing support between 3 to 6 individuals who all live close by with travel time between supports factored into your shift. Benefits : TRFS rewards scheme (which includes cash-back and discounts at a variety of high street and online retailers) Paid travel during shifts and 45p per mile fuel allowance. Continuous in-house training opportunities and chances to further your career in social care. Refer a Friend scheme- £150 reward for successfully referring a friend, family member or colleague.
