Touchbase Fife

is based in Kirkcaldy. We have been part of the community for over 20 years and have a customer base that stretches across all of Fife. Touchbase Fife offers a specialised support service to adults with additional support needs, including complex needs and communication and sensory challenges. The needs of the people we support are unique to them including but not limited to, learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy, physical disability, cerebral palsy and ADHD. Each person has an individualised package of support, tailored to their social and therapeutic needs, with staff trained to deliver support in a person-centred way. People work on a variety of outcomes linked to increasing independence, communication skills and learning new skills as well as some people going on to work on ASDAN qualifications. We offer therapeutic activities in our various activity rooms at Touchbase Fife. People can access the local community for activities such as swimming, cycling, art, dance and music groups, social clubs and day trips. We are also commissioned by Fife Health and Social Care Partnership to provide a specialist vision assessment to adults (over 16) with additional support needs including complex needs and communication and sensory challenges. Its purpose is to remove barriers to accessing good functional vision checks (along with referral onto an accessible hearing assessment conducted by the Deaf Communication Service in Fife when indicated). Over many years our assessment has demonstrated that ensuring people have the correct support for their sensory and communication needs enables the fullest participation and inclusion, which enhances their independence, choice and control.
