About the service

Fort William Service is a versatile and exciting place to work where no two days are the same. Value based communication is at the heart of everything we do and we tailor our support to meet the needs of individuals who live in their own homes. The role as a support practitioner offers 18.5 or 37 hours per week and will involve supporting our 24-hour housing support services working with individuals who have a range of complex support needs, who do not always communicate through speech. You will work on a 1:2:1 basis assisting people with day to day living, encouraging them to live happy meaningful lives and achieve their personal goals/ambitions both at home and in the wider community. Your role will be centred around building trusting relationships as a foundation to assist with practical tasks such as: Support individuals in their own homes with personal care, housework, administering medication, meal preparation, supporting with finances, companionship, etc. Liaise with families and other professionals in order to provide the best quality care. Promote independence and individuality according to each client's Support Plan. Record daily tasks and maintain accurate up to date records. Work as part of a team, effectively communicating with staff team, families and people supported. Shift Patterns Our Fort William Housing Support service operates 24/7, 365 days a year, using a rota-based system. Shifts are 24 hours long, running from 8:00 AM to 8:00 AM the following day. Each shift includes 15 hours of active support and a 9-hour sleepover period. About you
