Are you passionate about supporting others reach their full potential and looking for a fulfilling career?

If you’re based in or near Paisley, this could be what you have been waiting for! Our amazing team in Paisley is recruiting for male colleagues with a patient and empathetic personality, as well as a creative mindset and experience in care to join them as full-time Support Practitioners. The Role

You will be joining our friendly and dynamic team in Paisley who work between our dispersed service supporting individuals in the community and a young man who is transitioning into his first home after living with his parents. The people we support have a range of different needs including Autism, learning and physical disabilities, forensic, complex needs, alcohol and drug-related brain damage, and behaviours of concern. As a Support Practitioner, you will assist with all aspects of daily living including meal preparation, medication, going to appointments and activities, managing personal finances, support with moving and handling, and personal care. As well as helping the people we support in their own homes, you’ll also provide emotional support and assist them to maintain relationships with family and friends. The people we support are all very different with their hobbies and likes, from attending college and music clubs to watching YouTube, cartoons on VHS, going out for lunch with friends, and watching football matches. Every day is different. With your support, you’ll help reduce social isolation, enable individuals to maintain their independence, and grow in confidence. Some of the people we support have their own mobility cars and love going for a drive. It would be great if you have a full UK, manual driving licence, but this isn’t mandatory to join our team! In our service, we may use CALM, which are physical intervention and escape techniques to ensure the safety of supported individuals, colleagues, and members of the public. Techniques include but are not limited to: posture and distance when supporting, understanding triggers and escalation signs, along with guiding individuals away to deescalate situations. To be an amazing Support Practitioner, we’ll need you to:

Have an empathetic and caring nature. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Confidence in using computers. Be able to work well in a team environment and on your own. Good organisational skills. Shift Patterns

Our dedicated team provides support 24/7 on a 3-week rolling rota, where you will have one weekend off and 2 on. Shift patterns are varied between the hours of 7am and 11pm, on a rotational basis. Every night we have 2 sleepovers, starting at 10pm until the following day at 10am and 11am. Our transitioning service will require a waking night on a rotational basis. As the gentleman is just settling into his new home, shift patterns will be altered to suit his needs. The sleepover part of your shift (11pm – 7am) is not included in your contracted hours, so for every sleepover you cover, you will be paid an additional £99.20. A few of our Benefits:

TRFS rewards scheme (which includes cash-back and discounts at a variety of retailers). Paid travel during shifts and 45p per mile fuel allowance. Continuous in-house training opportunities and chances to further your career in social care. Fully funded SVQ. Refer a Friend scheme - £150 reward for successfully referring a new colleague.
