*Previous applicants need not apply* The successful candidate will be required to support the Medical Secretarial Team in the delivery of a comprehensive administrative service. This will involve inpatient and outpatient waiting list management for a specialty, in accordance with the Patient Access Policy, communicating appointments and admission-related information to patients and carers, and typing correspondence within performance targets as appropriate. The post holder will also be expected to cover the Senior Medical Secretary during leave or absence. Main duties of the job

Key Areas/Tasks Communication & Relationships Skills: There is a requirement to exchange verbal and written information with patients, staff, and carers, requiring tact and diplomacy. The post holder will be expected to deal with queries from anxious patients and carers. Responsibility for handling telephone and other communications with sensitivity and confidentiality using personal judgment to assess each situation and deal with accordingly. To deliver a high standard of communication to build and maintain good working relationships. To deliver a high standard of typing. Responsibility for the scheduling of appointments and theatre lists for cancer, urgent, and routine patients, in line with NHS wait times. To work closely with Clinical, management, and administration teams to ensure the best possible care and experience is delivered to our patients. Qualifications

Administration Qualifications 5 or more GCSE A-C or equivalent Experience of managing wait lists Experience
