Support Worker, Manchester City Council, Adults Housing Team - Must have a minimum of 2 years+ UK experience within an Adult Social Work team. Our client is looking for a Support Worker with 2 years+ UK experience within an Adults team. The responsibilities will include: Support the provision of housing related support for residents and work with customers and agencies to provide long term housing solutions and ensure that residents receive appropriate support. This is an office-based role and will involve telephoning customers who are accommodated in temporary accommodation to check on their welfare and ensure that local services are accessed. Advise on benefits, including housing benefit, and issues related to accommodation. Maintain awareness and understanding of Safeguarding issues. The applicant will be IT literate and be able to maintain accurate records. Act as point of contact for customers of the Homelessness Service, assess the needs of the customer, and provide effective and accurate information and advice. Be conversant and knowledgeable in specific subjects providing a detailed and comprehensive level of service advice. Work as part of a team and contribute to the provision of a high-quality service directly supporting service and organisational objectives. Liaise appropriately with colleagues and other professionals. 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation). Immediate start. 3 Month Temporary Contract. The successful candidate will need to hold an NVQ3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent, have a current CRB, and be a car driver.
