Wakefield is the lead authority for the Yorkshire and Humber Change Partnership Programme (CPP). Our recent local area SEND and Alternative Provision (SENDAP) inspection recognised that our “SEND arrangements typically lead to positive experiences and outcomes for children and young people with SEND. The local area partnership is taking action where improvements are needed.”

The SEND Development Team is looking for a dedicated
Supported Employment & Preparing for Adulthood Coordinator
to join us and continue to build on the fantastic work done so far in supporting our young people with SEND into substantive employment. Much work has been done with our schools and colleges, Supported Internship programmes and local employers to develop appropriate pathways that meet the aspirations of our young people. We recognise that the transition from school into further education, training and employment is a challenging time for young people and their families, and you will be at the forefront of taking our work further. You will have an extensive working knowledge of SEND and the Preparation for Adulthood agenda. You will be a good communicator, confidently able to work with a wide range of stakeholders including young people, their families, educational professionals, local authority colleagues, Supported Internship providers, and employers.
