Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced

Surfacing Supervisor

to oversee and coordinate all aspects of surfacing operations. The successful candidate will ensure high-quality delivery, adherence to safety standards, and efficient use of resources, working closely with teams to meet project deadlines and client expectations. Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

Plan, schedule, and supervise surfacing activities, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard. Oversee site operations, including preparation, laying, and finishing of surfaces. Monitor daily progress to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Health & Safety Compliance:

Enforce compliance with all health and safety regulations on-site. Conduct regular safety checks and toolbox talks to ensure team awareness of risks and best practices. Address and report any incidents or near-misses promptly. Team Coordination:

Lead and motivate site teams, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration. Provide on-site training or guidance as necessary to improve skills and efficiency. Manage and allocate resources, including labour, materials, and equipment. Quality Assurance:

Ensure all work meets client specifications, industry standards, and project requirements. Conduct regular inspections to maintain quality and identify areas for improvement. Liaise with clients to address concerns and provide progress updates. Administration and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including work completed, resources used, and any issues encountered. Prepare and submit progress reports to senior management. Assist in project planning and provide input for future job estimations. Person Specification:

Qualifications and Experience:

Proven experience in road surfacing or road construction. Previous supervisory experience is essential. Familiarity with plant and machinery used in operations. Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations. Skills:

Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Good organizational and time-management skills. Personal Attributes:

Detail-oriented with a focus on quality. Proactive and resourceful under pressure. Committed to maintaining high standards of safety and performance. Special Requirements:

Full UK driving license. Flexibility to work occasional weekends or extended hours when necessary. Relevant CSCS or SMSTS certification (desirable).
