Job Overview: The Survey Specialist applies their conceptual knowledge of Survey (Mar) and, with moderate guidance and direction from colleagues and leadership, is responsible for solving a range of straightforward Survey (Mar) problems. They will be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures and building knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. The Survey Specialist understands critical business drivers and applies this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations by analyzing possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents. Essential Qualifications and Education: Bachelor's degree in Survey (Land or Hydrography), Marine Science, Geomatics, Oceanography, or a related discipline Exposed to Cartography and Geodesy Proven experience 4 years in conducting marine surveys within the EPCI industry, with expertise in topographic and hydrographic survey techniques and equipment Strong knowledge of relevant industry regulations, standards, and guidelines, such as International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) standards, Marine Spatial Planning (MSP), and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) practices Proficiency in utilizing survey equipment, software, and data processing tools, including GPS, multibeam and single beam echo sounders, navigation systems, survey adjustment software, and GIS Familiar with geophysical surveys, survey sensors, sonars, and magnetometers Familiar with Mapping software like AutoCAD, Global Mapper, GIS, and bathymetric software Excellent data interpretation and analytical skills, with the ability to visualize, present, and communicate survey findings effectively to diverse stakeholders Detail-oriented approach, with a focus on accuracy and quality deliverables while working within project constraints and deadlines Strong teamwork and collaboration capabilities, with the ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and external agencies Ability to work in challenging onshore and offshore environments, adhere to safety protocols, and prioritize the protection of marine ecosystems and biodiversity Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Conduct land/marine surveys and inspections by industry standards and regulatory requirements Collaborate with project teams to aid with the planning and execution of land/marine surveys and data acquisition activities, ensuring accurate and timely completion Utilize various survey equipment, software, and technologies to collect and analyze marine data, including positioning, bathymetric surveys, and awareness of sub-bottom profiling and side-scan sonar imaging Assist with management and preparation of accurate survey reports, charts, and maps, highlighting findings, recommendations, and potential risks Support the identification and evaluation of potential marine hazards, such as underwater obstacles, geological formations, and uncharted navigational hazards Maintain and calibrate survey equipment, ensuring their proper functioning and accuracy Monitor and assess environmental impacts caused by marine construction activities, recommending appropriate mitigation measures Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during survey operations To be based at worksite based on project requirements, onshore and/or offshore
