Survey Workshop Supervisor (Onshore) . Based in Aberdeen, the role is on a permanent, full-time basis.
ROLE
This role is responsible for the inspection and maintenance of survey and positioning equipment, and logistical related aspects. Please note: The candidate hired will require to have the correct knowledge and experience to assist in the design, procurement, and build of the workshop.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary: Co-ordinating a team of engineers in the workshop, creating schedules to execute the daily workload in a timely manner to meet deadlines. Ensure workshop engineers test, maintain, and prepare Asset equipment for projects in line with department QA/QC procedures. Produce reports, QA/QC Procedures, manuals, and any other related technical documentation pertaining to the operation and support of survey equipment. Responsible for all survey equipment, inventories, availability, inspections, repairs, calibrations, and maintenance & compliance, including all relevant documentation. Ensure that maintenance standards are being executed within the department standards, manufacturer recommendations, regulatory requirements, and periodic certifications. Secondary: Liaise with suppliers to repair damaged or faulty equipment in-house, or to arrange out-of-house repairs and following up on processes. Update records of equipment maintenance, services, calibration, failure & repairs, and close out fault reports submitted from the offshore teams. Responsible for the receiving, offloading, and storage of Asset equipment. Ensure equipment is suitably packed for shipment (to or from the workshop) to safeguard serviceability. Assist Support Engineers as required in equipment selection and Asset availability, as required in support of project requirements. Provide technical assistance, support, and advice to offshore survey teams for all equipment matters and liaise with equipment suppliers to resolve technical issues. If required, assist vessel mobilizations and demobilizations by liaising with the support team, utilizing internal documents as reference. Ensure received orders are checked into the warehouse and register all new equipment into the department Asset Tracking System. Maintain inventory and stock levels of all equipment and consumables. Contribute to Survey equipment technical updates, bulletins, etc. Maintain necessary tools and equipment required to execute survey equipment maintenance and repair. Work according to department QA/QC procedures, standards, and specifications and contribute to their improvement. Actively partake in research and development of internally designed solutions to meet project requirements. Assist Warehouse as required on receipt of third-party hired survey equipment.
REQUIREMENTS:
Required: Experience in an onshore workshop environment, inspecting, testing, and maintaining survey equipment. Experience in the installation and interfacing of survey equipment and sensors. College/University education and/or industry training in survey-related electronic engineering. Experience in reading and interpreting technical drawings (both electronic and mechanical). Experience in Microsoft Office. Desirable: Experience in a calibration Laboratory. Equipment manufacturers training courses. Experience of Autocad.
