Purpose of Role and Key Accountabilities: The Director Sustainability & EHS is responsible for leading environmental, health, and safety initiatives, along with driving sustainability strategies that align with company goals, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. This role requires developing and executing EHS programs, promoting a sustainable workplace, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and supporting a culture of safety and environmental stewardship across the Group with its 9 production sites in UK, Poland, France, India, and China. Sustainability Leadership & Strategy:

Develop and implement sustainability strategies to reduce the company's environmental footprint in alignment with global aerospace standards and CSR goals; conduct assessments of environmental impacts across the organization, including carbon emissions, waste management, and water consumption, and develop strategies for improvement; lead sustainability reporting efforts and ensure compliance with recognized standards and frameworks. HSE Culture:

Maintain and develop a mature and embedded HSE culture in a standardized multi-national organization; design and manage comprehensive Environmental, Health, and Safety programs to ensure a safe, compliant, and healthy workplace; manage central and local teams to integrate EHS standards into operations, manufacturing, and engineering; review and update EHS policies to stay in line with regulatory changes, industry trends, and customer requirements. Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management:

Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations and relevant aerospace industry standards; lead the preparation, submission, and management of regulatory permits, inspections, and audits; conduct risk assessments and audits to identify, mitigate, and manage potential EHS risks in alignment with best practices and company standards; maintain current ISO 14001 and 50001 accreditations. Training & Awareness:

Develop and implement training programs to raise awareness and engagement in EHS and sustainability practices at all organizational levels; champion a culture of sustainability and safety by promoting active participation in EHS programs and engaging employees in continuous improvement activities. Incident Management & Reporting:

Lead/coordinate investigations for EHS incidents, near misses, and environmental non-compliance events to determine root causes and implement corrective actions; establish metrics and reporting structures to track performance, share insights, and make data-driven decisions to improve EHS and sustainability outcomes. Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting:

Act as focal point for EHS and sustainability matters with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and customers; prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership, boards, and stakeholders to communicate progress on EHS and sustainability objectives. Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in sustainability and EHS, particularly as they pertain to aerospace and manufacturing; explore innovative solutions, leveraging industry best practices and new technologies. Core Skills/Attributes Needed: The ideal candidate will have a blend of expertise in EHS management, sustainability frameworks, and knowledge of aerospace industry challenges and regulatory landscape. Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field. 5 years of experience in EHS or sustainability management, ideally within the aerospace, aviation, or manufacturing industry. Relevant EHS and sustainability certifications are preferred (e.g., NEBOSH, ISO 14001/45001 auditing certificate). Knowledge of EHS and sustainability regulations, industry best practices, and management systems (ISO 14001/45001, ISO 50001, AS 9100, ISO 26001). Proficiency in data analysis, sustainability reporting, and risk management. High level of verbal and written communication skills; Fluency in English required; other relevant languages, such as Polish, French, Hindi, or Mandarin as an advantage. Project management and leadership skills to work effectively with multi-national and cross-functional teams. Commitment to continuous improvement. The role may involve travel to various company sites and require time spent in manufacturing settings. Measurable Performance Indicators/Objectives of Role: Evidence of effective control measures which eliminate or reduce risk. Continuous improvement in Sustainability & EHS standards. Deployment of effective Health, Safety, Environmental & Energy management systems. Provision of appropriate information, instruction, and training for employees.
