Description Office Based in Redhill, Surrey with some potential remote flexibility The Opportunity: An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within a growing team providing consultancy services to commercial, industrial and public sector clients in support of their sustainability goals. You will be a key member of a small, dynamic and multi-skilled team which delivers strategy, analytical and operational services across the energy and climate dimensions of sustainability. About Us: NUS Consulting specialise in energy management and sustainability, providing commercial and industrial businesses with a wide range of services. We work with UK, European and global clients on diverse projects that include: Net-Zero strategy development, science-based target setting, GHG assessment across all scopes, policy analysis, quantitative analytical and modelling work, voluntary carbon offset market assessment, and general sustainability systems-thinking. The Role – Experienced Sustainability Consultant / Analyst: As a Sustainability Consultant/Analyst you will be involved across the whole spectrum of the business area. From the analytical, technical and policy aspects of project work; to building and managing a pipeline of projects, including involvement on proposal submission and client/prospect engagement; to the strategic development and long-term vision of the sustainability consulting team. Person Specification: Experience The ideal candidate will have previous commercial experience in sustainability consulting, in-house corporate sustainability and/or other relevant organisation (e.g. standard’s/ framework entity, think-tank, or research house) Able to provide significant input on the design, development and delivery of products and services within the sustainability consulting team Proven record of working within teams in delivering large and challenging projects Deep knowledge of energy, climate and sustainability from a commercial, practitioner, and academic perspective Experience of client delivery on the main reporting frameworks, standards and initiatives (e.g. CDP, SBTi, GHG Protocol, TCFD, GRI, plus latest ESG reporting developments) Experience and knowledge of holistic dimensions of sustainability (social, economic, environmental e.g. UN SDGs) a plus Education and Skills 2- 5 years+ of professional sustainability-related experience Highly numerate and analytical bachelor’s degree Masters in sustainability related discipline, with strong written skills and solid understanding/awareness of the policy, market and corporate aspects of sustainability Experience or understanding of modelling and quantitative analysis Excellent presentational, report-writing, and data visualisation skills Clear communicator, able to synthesize and distil evidence/analysis into key messages Strong quantitative analytical and modelling skills Advanced competency in Microsoft Excel Experience of Python and other analytical tools highly desirable The Person Genuine and deep passion for sustainability, and a desire to make meaningful change Be integral to the ongoing development of the sustainability business area at the company Open-minded, intellectually curious person who is continually looking to discover and learn Creative problem-solver with the ability to work to short/accelerated deadlines
