Summary Equinix is hiring a Sustainability Manager in the Sustainability Program Office to support Equinix in achieving our climate ambitions. This is an individual contributor role supporting the Environmental Sustainability Program Lead within the Sustainability Program Office and will partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver on the company-wide decarbonization strategy and climate risk programs to meet our climate targets and commitments. Candidates will have a strong grasp of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) accounting practices and key decarbonization levers within the ICT sector and are comfortable working cross-functionally to drive results. Responsibilities: Decarbonization Project Management: Partner with internal stakeholders to identify decarbonization opportunities across Scopes 1, 2, and 3 emissions. Cross-functionally support the execution of decarbonization projects within the business. Engage with environmental sustainability teams to quantify carbon reduction initiatives, develop internal carbon reduction targets, and measure performance against these goals. Support and facilitate data collection and data management pertaining to Greenhouse Gas (GHG) accounting, reporting, and forecasting. Expectation to grow into an expert on data center, real estate and technology-related sustainability topics including deep expertise in technical sustainability concepts. Grow into a subject-matter expert on environmental sustainability topics (climate resiliency, emissions, energy, water, etc.) and key ESG issues. Climate Risk Data Management and Adaptation: Collaborate with the enterprise risk management team to manage climate risk data across the global portfolio, developing risk profiles and prioritizing areas for adaptation. Partner with site operations and facilities teams to implement climate risk mitigation and adaptation strategies, particularly in areas vulnerable to extreme weather or climate-related disruptions. Climate Change Reporting and Compliance: Lead climate risk reporting across both voluntary (e.g., CDP, TCFD) and regulatory frameworks, ensuring compliance with evolving requirements. Support the development and communication of the company's climate transition plan, aligning with investor expectations and sustainability goals. Qualifications: 5-7 years of experience in corporate sustainability and GHG accounting. B.S. degree in relevant STEM discipline or equivalent experience (master's degree preferred). Strong project management skills (PMP or Lean Six Sigma certifications preferred). Experience working with climate-related data including GHG emissions, and physical climate metrics to assess climate risk, and translating those findings into business impact metrics. Working knowledge of sustainability programs specific to energy, environment and emissions and how they are interrelated (e.g. TCFD, CDP, GRI, The Greenhouse Gas Protocol, Science-based Targets Initiative, etc.). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams with competing and sometimes urgent deadlines and experience influencing upwards to keep programs and projects moving. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing. The United States targeted pay range for this position in the following locations are: California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $119,000 to $196,000 per year. Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training. This position may be offered in other locations. The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
