Monday - Friday 8am to 4pm - 35 hours per week (TTO + INSET: 39 weeks)

Salary SC6 (Points 18 -20 - £36,345 - £37,437 per annum) pro rata - actual salary: £31,398pa - £32,342

Sydenham School is seeking to recruit a well-qualified, experienced and forward-thinking Pastoral Manager to join our Inclusion team. You will have experience of working with young people and the skills to liaise with all stakeholders. This role requires the use of diplomacy and tact at all times. You must be an excellent communicator, both orally and in writing, and have exceptional administrative and organisational skills.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

Support the Heads of Years in managing assigned Year Groups and thereby enabling all students to achieve their fullest potential.

Provide a strong positive role model to students, helping maintain a positive culture and ethos including keeping students focused on the importance of their education.

Taking responsibility for dealing with incidents of poor behaviour in the first instance, using restorative approaches whenever appropriate and/or recommending further action.

Forge strong positive relationships with families, ensuring high levels of parental engagement to support student outcomes.
