System Safety and Environmental Engineer focuses on carry out hazard analysis, risk evaluation and specify s&e requirements in the areas of performance, engineering features, interfacing and testing requirements.
What the role involves
- Carry out hazard analysis, risk evaluation and specify S&E requirements in the areas of performance, engineering features, interfacing and testing requirements.
- Communicate a reasoned argument to all disciplines across the project team for the inclusion of S&E measures in order to ensure adherence to all the derived S&EM requirements.
- Ensure compliance to S&EM processes and procedures.
- Maintaining a good understanding of all relevant S&E standards and regulations.
- Preparing hazard analysis reports, safety cases as well as development of valid safety arguments.
- Ability to define and implement sound engineering design principles and methodology.
Skills and requirements
- Science or Engineering degree (or equivalent).
- Ideally a post graduate qualification (or equivalent) in safety or environmental engineering.
- Maintain SC Clearance prior to commencing employment.
- To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years.
Confirmed role details
- Performance-related bonus (grade dependent).
- Half day every Friday, usually finishing around 13:00.
- 28 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) with opportunity to buy up to 40 hours/year (pro rata).
- 24 hours volunteering paid for.
