The role of the
Systemic Neurodiversity Practitioner
is to provide comprehensive support to children, young people, and their families with diverse and often overlapping needs. These may include Autism, ADHD, mental health challenges, and other neurodiversity-related needs. The service prioritises personalised, family-centered, and holistic care, ensuring timely, coordinated, and community-based support. As a compassionate and dedicated practitioner, the post holder will work directly with children, young people, and their families, holding a caseload and developing personalised care plans. They will advocate for the needs of individuals and their families, ensuring access to essential services and promoting empowerment, independence, and well-being. This service runs Monday to Saturday 8am - 8pm.
This is a full-time position with the flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required. Travel within the region may be required to fulfill the responsibilities of the role. This role is fixed term until March 2026. Main duties of the job
Main Responsibilities: Manage a caseload, delivering tailored interventions and support that address individual needs. Support children and young people to remain in their communities wherever possible and prevent escalation to acute or specialist services through proactive intervention. Family-Centred Planning
Collaborate with children, young people, and their families to co-produce care plans reflecting their lived experiences, needs, and preferences. Ensure plans are adaptable, goal-oriented, and inclusive of family input.
Advocacy and Communication
Act as an advocate for children, young people, and families, ensuring their voices are central in decision-making. Maintain open, respectful communication with families, professionals, and service providers.
Creative and Flexible Engagement
Use creative approaches to engage effectively with children and young people, considering diverse communication needs.
Access to Services
Source appropriate interventions, resources, and services in collaboration with other professionals and stakeholders. Signpost families to community assets and additional support as required.
Empowerment and Independence
Support children, young people, and families to build resilience and develop solution-focused strategies. Promote autonomy and self-expression in all aspects of care.

Relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent experience working with children, young people, and families with neurodiversity-related needs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to family-centred care. Experience in collaborative working within multi-disciplinary teams. Proven ability to manage a caseload, prioritising tasks effectively. Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies. Driving licence and access to vehicle for work purposes.
