Nicholas Howard is delighted to be recruiting for an exciting learning technologies company - they deliver learning tech to some of the worlds leading businesses, and we have an exciting new opportunity for a LMS Systems Administrator to join them on a permanent basis, in a fully remote role.

Your background and experience may come from Systems Administration, where, in addition, you have managed and maintained applications. This role could be equally suitable if you have worked more extensively in application management, and gained some Linux experience through that.

The essential element is the ability to manage the installation, upgrade and ongoing performance of the applications through collaboration, onboarding customers, and providing a high-level of customer-facing support.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable and confident in operating autonomously, and working effectively in a collaborative remote context.

Key Responsibilities Technical Skills:

Install new applications and update existing ones. Help new customers get started and assist with existing customers. Efficiency:

Ensure all tasks are done quickly and cause little disruption. Coordination:

Work with other teams to set up technical requirements for each application. Customer Support:

Help onboard and offboard customers, and assist with support cases when needed. Plugin Management:

Handle the installation, updates, and removal of plugins, using our in-house system. SSL Certificates:

Manage the installation, renewal, and removal of SSL certificates. System Services:

Install and configure additional services for each customer as needed. Alignment:

Ensure our application management aligns with the overall system architecture. Troubleshooting:

Help identify and solve system issues, working with support and systems teams. Technical Advice:

Provide helpful technical guidance to customers and support teammates. Audits:

Regularly review and check systems for performance and security as requested. Documentation:

Create and maintain technical documents for internal processes and customer guidance. Process Improvement:

Share feedback and help optimise our processes. Eventual participation on the On-Call rota.

Essential Criteria - You must have:

The right to live and work in the UK or Ireland. At least 2+ years experience with installing, upgrading, and removing web applications at scale. Basic knowledge of Linux from the command line. Experience with version control (Git). Proficiency in macOS.

In addition, it would be highly advantageous if you have:

Experience with Moodle LMS, Workplace, or Totara. Experience of managing other web applications, at scale, such as WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, MediaWiki. Linux Systems Administration experience. Knowledge of automation tools like Ansible.
