Technologies: Systems Administrator, VMware, Microsoft Server, Windows, Winchester, Hampshire Endeavour Recruitment has an excellent permanent position for a Systems Administrator to join a dynamic team based in Winchester. Work Environment: To work as a member of the IT Services team, working with and reporting to the Head and Assistant Head of IT Services to analyse, design, implement, maintain, and support IT infrastructure. The environment has an extensive wired and wireless network covering many buildings, consisting of more than 3000 PCs, laptops, Chromebooks, and 120 servers. PCs all run Windows, whilst the servers run a mixture of VMware, Microsoft Server, and Linux OSs. Responsibilities: Analyse, design, implement, maintain, and support the IT infrastructure – including: Desktop and server applications Desktop and server endpoint security systems Desktop and server OS Deployment of desktops, physical and virtual servers Network services, firewall, switches, wireless and network access control Network storage and backup System and network analysis, vulnerability scanning, health monitoring and logging services Act as higher-tier support to the team of IT Technicians, providing excellent customer service to internal and external members Work with the Head of IT Services to develop IT systems, policies, and good practice Keep abreast of IT trends and their impact on the environment Ensure that tasks are well documented and filed Produce training materials for users as required Be willing and able to carry out all tasks expected of the IT technicians Conform to legal requirements, e.g. Data Protection Act, Abuse of Computers Act, and software licensing agreements, and encourage other users to do the same Undertake training as required Prioritise safeguarding and participate in training on safeguarding matters Contribute to the elimination of unlawful discrimination, harassment, and victimisation; advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not Any other duties that may be reasonably required Are you looking for an enjoyable, varied role?
