Systems Design Engineer
to join a Data Link systems design team leading the delivery of cutting-edge Data Link electronics. Working with an international team across multiple business functions, you will lead the development of technology that covers the entire design lifecycle, from Concept to In-service. This role is not only about delivering solutions but also about driving transformation, personal growth, and expanding influence. This team is relatively small, so there is huge scope to shape and grow while developing your own technical knowledge and competencies as you progress within the business. System design activities, working alongside subject-matter experts in data link design Verification and Validation: develop comprehensive strategies for verifying and validating the electrical, mechanical, software, and transversal properties of the Data Link. System Certification support: work alongside the Equipment Design Authority and Test & Evaluation team to provide assurance and certification evidence of the Data Link to facilitate equipment delivery. Technical management: successfully leading the systems design and technical trade studies. Skills Required: Strong systems engineering experience (ideally in a complex hardware, firmware, and software system) Experience of Model-Based Systems Engineering / SysML and use of Systems Engineering Tools such as IBM DOORS and Rhapsody. A desire to develop and grow your systems engineering skills and to improve the system engineering methods used within the team. Experience of managing engineering work packages to deliver value outcomes, including coordination of other engineering teams and SMEs. Ability to engage with subject matter experts and grow your knowledge of new technical areas. You will need to obtain UK Security Clearance for this role.
