Our client, a renowned player in the aerospace sector, is currently seeking a Systems Engineer to join their distinguished team in Fareham. This role requires full-time on-site work and is restricted to UK nationals due to the security level of the projects involved.

Role Summary

In this position, you will develop and implement structured engineering solutions to meet programme requirements throughout the development lifecycle, in alignment with legislation, customer mandates, human factors, and business needs. You will be expected to deliver against technical, quality, cost, and schedule requirements. You should have experience in aircraft equipment design and a thorough understanding of aircraft certification requirements, interface of different aircraft components, and information utilisation. Capability to facilitate trade-offs between hardware and software, and partitioning equipment requirements into these elements is essential. Experience in mathematical and graphical modelling is also required.

Core Responsibilities

Capture and define requirements through a disciplined approach to requirements engineering, ensuring thorough understanding. Construct and implement embedded engineering solutions, including detailed design, technical reviews, and performance optimisation. Plan and document system verification, including various tests as necessary (system tests, unit tests, integration tests, etc.). Generate work products that conform to all technical and quality requirements, adhering to robust configuration control, review, and change management processes. Assist in producing plans, estimates, task lists, and risk management plans in support of programme objectives and project estimates. Collaborate with customers, other engineering disciplines, and internal departments throughout the development process, addressing their requests professionally. Perform internal project activities and engage with external sub-contract organisations, maintaining a positive and goal-focused attitude. Contribute to continual process improvement, supporting the company's business and strategic objectives.

Job Requirements

Experience in systems full lifecycle, systems integration, and systems design. Proficiency in BAE-Systems Engineering and systems engineering principles. Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Science. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and decision-making skills. Analytical and research skills, along with team-building abilities. Organised and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask efficiently. Capability to follow specific instructions and procedures accurately. Effective presentation skills and proficiency in compiling data and preparing reports. Independent working ability and skill in prioritising duties to meet deadlines. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and understanding of PC operating systems.
