Job Purpose: As a Systems Engineer for NATS, you will be the single point of Engineering accountability on the assigned Project(s), or provide the relevant support, to ensure the right engineering solution is delivered by the Project(s), built correctly and compliant with the requirements, delivered within an agreed timescale to an acceptable standard and compliant with regulatory requirements. Duties Include: Ensuring the design and subsequent development of the system meets the needs of the work package as well as the expected integrity and reliability standards applicable in NATS. Technical supervision of staff resources to achieve business objectives as set by the Work Package Manager. Generation and elicitation of requirements; interface and test specifications necessary to procure, implement, and accept the allocated system/sub-system. Responsible for planning and managing system acceptance and performing hardware/software acceptance testing activities at contractor and customer sites for new facilities, ensuring customer requirements and business needs are met. Act as the focal point for project queries and manage resultant documentation changes for change requests and problem reports arising from the design, implementation, and subsequent testing. Delivery of in-service system engineering and related technical documentation. Maintain an awareness of technical developments that may affect the system or area of work for which the job holder is responsible and plan for their impact. Provide technical recommendations on suppliers as part of the bidding and tender evaluation process. Applicant shall be responsible for delivering the following: Support development Feasibility and Options (F&O). High Level Requirements Specification (HLRS). Support development of HLRS acceptance criteria, trace reports. Systems Requirements Specification (SRS). Support development of HLRS acceptance criteria, trace reports. Engineering Solution documentation such as: Systems Architecture Description (SAD) Systems Element Descriptions (SED) Interface Control Document Qualifications/Skills: The applicant is expected to hold, as a minimum, an HNC (or a relevant equivalent qualification and several years of proven relevant experience) in an Engineering related discipline and have relevant engineering experience. Relevant experience of high-integrity real-time systems within large scale, multi-disciplined projects and practical experience of systems engineering testing and integration, with broad experience of one or more NATS systems and general knowledge of NATS ATM Architecture. Proven ability to communicate in a clear and precise manner, and be able to work proactively, within a defined framework, with a minimum of direct supervision. A proactive approach is essential.
