The Systems Team Manager & Solution Architect is responsible for the management and support of a number of the trust’s Clinical IT Systems. The post holder will be responsible for the operational leadership of systems for PAHT, including performance monitoring and assurance, service improvement and development. The post holder will work with the Head of Clinical Systems and senior members of the Trust management teams to execute the ICT strategy associated with clinical information systems and will ensure the delivery of high-quality Informatics services. The Systems Team Manager will additionally be responsible for the development and transformational resources within the ICT department, allocating resources to enable stakeholder and nationally driven change to the Trust’s applications. Main duties of the job

The post holder will: Execute, with other IT leaders, the strategic plans, especially those related to clinical information systems, which includes the Electronic Health Record (EHR) – Alex Health. Provide Trust operational leadership of clinical information systems, ensuring maintenance of the information systems and delivery of operational requirements. Apply strong financial management of budgets, both capital and operating expenses as required. Ensure success of clinical information systems maintenance, projects, and other Informatics projects as agreed. Conduct workforce planning to ensure that the right people with the right skills are in place to support clinical information systems. Ensure rigorous performance monitoring to deliver best practice informatics operational and project standards relating to clinical information systems. Facilitate application of high-quality standards and processes, e.g., requirements specification and change control in collaboration with IT, clinical, and operational teams. Ensure the adoption and usage of clinical information systems with transformation lead and operational teams. Person specification

Skills

Experience of working under pressure to tight deadlines. Previous experience of working in the NHS or a similar large, complex environment. Strong ‘customer service’ orientation and ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with different staff groups. Experience in supervising or managing staff. Educated to post-graduate diploma level or equivalent experience or training in specific specialist areas. Excellent analytical skills. Knowledge

Good Knowledge of IT Security Standards. Good understanding of NHS Data architecture. Experience in financial, annual planning, and business planning processes. Knowledge of HL7 integration standard for healthcare i.e., message types and content. Able to plan/complete implementations and contribute to culture change. Experience

Experience in designing, building, testing, and deploying Information Systems within large highly-complex organisations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey highly complex technical ideas to individuals. Experience in supervising or managing staff. Experience of full software development lifecycle. Ability to align solutions and integration with business processes, IT and business strategy and, where required/appropriate, with National and STP strategies.
