About the Role: Teach Match Education is proud to be working with an outstanding special school in Manchester, seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), contributing to their academic and personal development in a nurturing and inclusive environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEND, tailoring approaches to meet their individual learning needs. Assist the class teacher in delivering a personalised curriculum and adapting resources to make learning accessible and engaging for all students. Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting students' emotional well-being, confidence, and social skills. Support students in their personal care routines and with managing their behaviour, fostering independence and life skills. Monitor and track students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed. Work collaboratively with the SENCO, teachers, and other professionals to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and interventions. Encourage positive behaviour through the use of consistent routines, rewards, and strategies for managing challenging behaviour. Assist with classroom management, ensuring that students remain engaged and focused during lessons. Support students in extracurricular activities, school trips, and other events as required. Uphold the safeguarding and welfare of students, ensuring that all school policies are followed.

Requirements: Previous experience working with students with SEND in a school or similar educational setting. A genuine passion for working with children with special needs and a commitment to making a positive impact on their lives. Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO. Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations. A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent), is desirable but not essential. Knowledge and understanding of various SEND needs, including autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and social and emotional needs. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
