We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Chartered Tax Adviser on behalf of our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering expert advice in tax planning, tax compliance, and ensuring our clients meet all their tax obligations in line with UK tax laws and regulations. This is a full-time, on-site role, and applicants must be local to Hailsham or willing to relocate.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide expert tax planning and advice to individual and corporate clients, ensuring they are fully compliant with all tax obligations. Conduct thorough research on tax issues to provide up-to-date and accurate advice. Prepare and review Self-Assessment tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Prepare and manage company accounts with timely and correct filing. Collaborate with clients to understand their tax positions and offer strategic tax planning solutions. Oversee tax compliance tasks, including preparing tax calculations and submissions. Communicate tax-related matters to clients clearly and effectively, answering queries and providing guidance. Manage and meet demanding deadlines under pressure, ensuring timely completion of tax-related tasks. Maintain a high level of professional discretion and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive financial data. Participate in team meetings, sharing knowledge and best practices for continuous improvement. Demonstrate strong business acumen and contribute to the overall success and growth of the firm. Potential to be considered for a board appointment after demonstrating competence and business leadership skills.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional qualification as a Chartered Tax Adviser or ACCA (or well on the way to completing your qualification). Proven experience in tax planning, compliance, and research. Strong knowledge of UK tax laws and regulations. Expertise in Self-Assessment and Company Accounts. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy in tax calculations. Strong understanding of business tax considerations and client management. Ability to manage workloads effectively, prioritise tasks, and meet demanding timelines. Management experience within an accountancy or tax setting is highly desirable. Ability to demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and discretion in all aspects of work. Experience with Xero is preferable. Must have 2-3 years' experience minimum.
