About the role Working closely with Directors and the wider Tax Team, you will provide bespoke tax services to a wide range of Owner Managed Businesses with a focus on capital taxes, IHT, and trust taxation. The role leans towards advisory project work and includes a significant amount of client contact. Responsibilities will include: Providing comprehensive tax planning and advisory services for clients. Company restructures (such as share-for-share exchange, incorporations, company purchase, and mergers/de-mergers). IHT planning. Advising on employee incentives (e.g., EMI). Seeking HMRC clearance on various tax matters. Complex Capital Gains calculations. Managing ongoing HMRC investigations. Conducting tax research while remaining abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations of business decisions and transactions. Collaborating with other departments to ensure tax compliance and alignment with overall business objectives. Communicating complex tax concepts clearly and effectively to both clients and the wider internal team. About you Ideally CTA/ACCA/ACA qualified (or equivalent experience), with at least five years’ experience within a tax team including significant experience delivering tax compliance and advisory services to clients. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential to facilitating strong relationships with clients, the tax team, and other departments. This position would suit an ambitious candidate who is keen to progress and can work independently to deliver projects to agreed deadlines. Due to sustained growth, an opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and motivated Tax Associate/Senior Tax Associate to join our team based out of any of our Taunton, Exeter, or Bath offices. This position will require the individual to organise their own time, support the group in an advisory role working across all areas of the business providing added value to our clients, alongside management of the corporate tax compliance function.
