The role is in our Core Asset Management tax team, which has a diverse client and target base spanning the Financial


Services sector - providing services to traditional asset managers and financial services institutions, private equity.

Funds, real estate and alternative investors, wealth and hedge asset managers, UK pension funds and global institutional

investors.

We are looking for a candidate with a particular interest in the Real estate market, although the setup

of the team is such that there will be other opportunities to work across traditional asset management tax compliance

and advisory, private equity funds, operational taxes and EU Funds.

The team is diverse and collaborative, with individuals based across London, Manchester, Bristol, and Edinburgh, we

embraced hybrid and flexible working long before it became the norm! Our team has a mix of backgrounds and whatever

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a good level of core corporate tax or income tax technical knowledge

and a confident outward facing skillset willing to invest time and effort in the marketplace.

What will you be doing?

The role involves a mix of tax advisory services and compliance management. This will include:


  • Taking responsibility for the delivery of high-quality advisory, compliance and reporting services for a portfolio
  • of clients. This includes the review of partnership tax returns and corporation tax returns.
  • Undertaking tax accounting work to assist clients with their statutory reporting process.
  • Carrying out detailed technical research.
  • Being the first point of contact for multiple clients.
  • Co-ordinating the advice provided by other overseas KPMG teams and other tax skillsets.
  • Providing tax structuring and restructuring advice on a wide range of transactions.
  • Working closely with colleagues in other parts of KPMG, both within and outside of Tax
  • Developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Understanding the client's business and helping to identify areas for the provision of tax and other services.
  • Being involved in business development and proposal activity.
  • Ensuring all risk procedures are adhered to.

What will you need to do it?

  • Qualified CTA or ACA/CA or equivalent.
  • Strong corporate tax or income tax technical knowledge and an awareness of other tax and accounting
  • areas.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in addition to strong oral and written communication skills.
  • High level analytical skills and a commercial approach to resolving issues and providing advice.
  • Ability to work as part of a team including managing, coaching and developing team members.
  • Strong task management skills.
  • Ability to build client relationships.
  • Good computational and excel skills.
  • Good technology skills - experience of Alphatax would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Financial and risk management acumen.
