To deliver nurse-led Screening clinics as directed by senior colleagues.
To manage a delegated caseload of patients.
To provide an outreach service by visiting patients at home, in hostels, and a variety of temporary accommodation settings.
To ensure, at all times, that the needs of the patient are placed at the centre of service delivery.
Recognises, investigates, and plans in consultation with the TB Nurse Specialist, the necessary action to resolve problems in relation to patients with adherence problems or likely to default treatment.
Providing support to patients, facilitating regular clinic follow-up and assisting in locating patients at risk of defaulting on treatment.
Develop links and formalised referral methods with relevant services and to establish and maintain collaborative care networks.
To undertake audit of relevant TB Service activities to ensure that standards for TB Infection prevention and control are met.
To investigate contacts of TB index cases by delivering TB Contact Tracing in domiciliary and outpatient clinic settings.
Collecting laboratory data and clinical information.
Deputise in the absence of line manager.
To risk assess and develop individual care plans in partnership with clients based on a shared assessment of need.
To formulate and review/update TB service Policies as directed.
Attend in-service training courses and study sessions as appropriate to maintain own competencies.
Plan, implement, deliver, and evaluate TB training package to students and other members of ECCH staff.
To act as a source of expert advice regarding TB infection information to patients, contacts, and members of the public.
Maintain contemporaneous and accurate written and electronic records in partnership with clients and in accordance with policies and procedures.
Provide day-to-day supervision to others in line manager's absence.
To lead on tasks as delegated by line manager.
Write reports and participate in audit on service delivery, as required for manager.
