Our department is a truly supportive and cohesive team, which prioritises teacher development and managing workload. We have an extensive and successful mentoring and coaching programme, which ensures that everyone – from newer staff to the most experienced – receive regular feedback and support to ensure their teaching is always at its highest level. Multiple available avenues for bespoke CPD ensure that our department members can always pursue their ambition, with NPQ opportunities and internal programmes to support those wanting to develop in curriculum, pastoral or leadership routes. Our fully resourced curriculum and focus on department co-planning ensure that our English teachers do not have to spend their time creating resources but can instead focus on adapting lessons for the learners in front of them to maximise their progress and impact. The successful candidate will be able to teach KS3 and KS4 to a high level and ensure that students make rapid progress in lessons. They have strong subject knowledge, and high expectations for students.
