If you are a passionate and talented English teacher, then look our way! Due to expansion, we are looking for a full-time English teacher, starting in September 2025. The English department is well established at Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys. Staff have a wealth of experience and interests, which bring many dimensions to the provision of excellent lessons as well as skills and support for a new colleague! We have enjoyed excellent results at both GCSE and A-Level, and a concept-focused Key Stage 3 proves a popular launch pad for strong progress. Enabling students into Higher Education with confidence is a strength. A healthy approach to broader, innovative ways to enhance learning is encouraged, and trips add to this! This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, committed teacher who is capable of teaching English to at least KS4. They will work with the other members of the department to maintain a focus on progress; teaching and learning; and raising achievement. The role would be suitable for an experienced secondary teacher seeking a new challenge or possibly a recently qualified teacher looking to gain experience in a supportive school. Key Responsibilities: Teach English to at least Key Stage 4. Collaborate with department members to focus on student progress and achievement. Support the development of innovative teaching methods. Minimum Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Experience teaching English at secondary level. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
