Step Teachers are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant located in New Southgate commencing in February 2025. This full-time position is for 5 days initially, with potential extension based on performance and school discretion. In an affluent location, this school boasts an 'outstanding' rating from Ofsted and places a high value on fostering the intellectual growth of students and staff. Your duties as a Teaching Assistant: Support the classroom teacher in the delivery of engaging lessons and activities. Work with small groups or individual students to provide additional support where needed. Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and resources. Provide help to students with special educational needs (SEN), adapting learning tasks to meet individual needs. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment by encouraging students to participate and engage. Assist with classroom management and behavior support, ensuring a safe and respectful environment. Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teacher. Supervise students during non-classroom times such as breaks, lunch, and outdoor activities. To be considered for this Teaching Assistant position, you will: A genuine passion for working with children and helping them achieve their potential. Previous experience working with children (in an educational or child-related setting) is preferred but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to a variety of learning needs as a Teaching Assistant.
