Learning Support Assistant Location: Camden, London Contract: Full-Time, Monday to Friday Start Date: ASAP Salary: Dependent on experience Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and making a positive impact on their learning journey? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN KS2 Learning Support Assistant to join a vibrant, multicultural primary school in Camden. This is an exciting opportunity to provide one-to-one support to a child in KS2 to ensure they can thrive in their education. Key Responsibilities: Provide individual support to children with SEN, helping them access the curriculum and engage with their learning. Assist in the development and implementation of tailored learning plans for students. Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to ensure the educational needs of the students are met. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the diverse needs of all students. Help with behaviour management and provide emotional support where necessary. Key Requirements: Prior experience working in a 1-1 SEN support role within a primary school setting is essential. A strong understanding of the needs of children with a variety of SEN, including autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning difficulties. The ability to work independently and as part of a team. A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students. Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with children, staff, and parents. Desirable Qualifications: A recognised qualification in Special Educational Needs, Teaching Assistant Level 2/3, or other relevant SEN qualifications. Experience with behaviour management strategies. Training in specific SEN support (e.g., Makaton, PECS, or other strategies) is advantageous.
