Arabic-speaking Teaching Assistant
to support a student with
special educational needs (SEN)
in a
mainstream secondary school . The student has recently arrived from Kuwait and is in the early stages of learning English. This is an excellent opportunity for a native Arabic speaker to make a meaningful difference in the life of a young learner by providing tailored educational support and helping them settle into their new environment. Responsibilities Provide one-to-one support for the student with SEN requirements, focusing on their academic, social, and emotional development. Act as a bridge between the student and their peers, facilitating communication and integration. Assist in developing basic English language skills while offering explanations in Arabic to aid understanding. Collaborate with teachers and SEN staff to adapt lesson plans and resources to meet the student's needs. Monitor and report on the student's progress to the SEN coordinator and teaching staff. Ensure the student's safety and wellbeing at all times. Requirements Native or fluent Arabic speaker (essential). Experience working with children or young people with SEN in an educational setting. Understanding of or willingness to learn strategies for supporting students who are new to English. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting learners. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
