About this job Job summary We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an Instructional Officer (SIO) at the Defence College of Technical Training (DCTT). As an SIO, you will play a vital role in developing training programs designed to transform RAF personnel into competent and inspired workshop technicians. This position is advertised at 37 hours per week. Job description You will be responsible for delivering training and lessons, producing lesson plans and supporting course materials, and participating in internal and external evaluation audits. You will also ensure that students meet the required standards of conduct, punctuality, discipline, and dress. Additionally, you will integrate Literacy and Numeracy into lessons and make an active contribution to the Continuous Improvement of the School and its outputs. The successful candidate will have a recognised experience and background in a Workshops engineering environment, with a strong ability to communicate complicated ideas to different audiences. They must be well organised, proficient in time management, and have good public speaking skills. Salary: £29,580 per year Benefits include: A Flexi-time scheme 25 days paid annual leave rising by 1 day per completed year of service to a maximum 30 days Eight public holidays per year, plus leave for HM The King's birthday Ability to roll over up to 10 days annual leave per year Special Paid Leave for other volunteer duties Requirements Please note that this post will require you to be fully in-person and work full-time. Person specification The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, leadership abilities, and the capacity to positively influence and manage students. They must also be proactive and reactive, assessing the skills and knowledge within the group and determining what training is needed to grow and nurture these individuals.
