Job Description: We are seeking a committed and empathetic Part-Time Teaching Assistant to support a Reception child with SEN on a one-to-one basis during the morning sessions. You will play a vital role in providing tailored support to help the child engage with their learning, develop key skills, and feel supported within the classroom setting. This position requires a patient, understanding, and flexible approach to meet the child’s individual needs. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one support for a Reception child with Special Educational Needs. Assist with the child’s learning and development, using strategies to help them access the curriculum. Support the child in building social skills, managing emotions, and improving communication. Work closely with the class teacher to implement personalized learning strategies and targets. Monitor the child’s progress and provide feedback to the teacher regarding their development. Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Assist with behavior management and provide guidance to the child to stay engaged in classroom activities. Support the child during break times, lunch, and other school activities as needed. The Ideal Candidate: Experience working with children, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), is highly desirable. A patient, compassionate, and flexible approach to working with young children. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with children, parents, and staff. A proactive attitude and the ability to adapt strategies to meet the individual needs of the child. Previous experience in an Early Years or Reception setting (preferred but not essential).
