Based Within Recovery to assist the SCN for recovery and the emergency Flow co-ordinator. We are looking to recruit a confident, compassionate and knowledgeable perioperative practitioner with significant theatre experience for a Team Leader post within Inpatient theatre Recovery at the RAH. The unit has 9 operating theatres and a 10 bedded recovery room, as well as a theatre reception area. Excitingly and new for 2024, the theatre service will operate cross site at the QEUH in order to provide colorectal robotic surgery to Clyde patients for two theatre sessions per week. The post holder will be: Ideally educated to degree level Or be able to demonstrate significant post registration experience within a theatre environment and able to evidence continued professional development. There is an expectation that the post holder will be in a leadership role in the out of hours period, which will include all emergencies from the other specialities, providing direct support to the theatre team in the delivery of person-centred perioperative care. The post holder will be responsible for the daily management within the theatre recovery area with the support of their CN colleagues under the management direct of the SCN for recovery and the emergency flow coordinator to ensure that a high quality of clinical care is delivered to all patients post-operatively. The successful candidate will support the flow of patients to and from theatres ensuring the flow is maintained. Using excellent leadership skills and clinical expertise, they will provide advice, support, supervision and education to all members of staff working within their team. Significant experience and knowledge of working within a theatre environment in a scrub role is required. You will require to have: Excellent communication And negotiation skills in order to manage conflicting pressures in a calm and professional manner. You also will be instrumental in assisting the Senior Charge Nurses in taking forward service improvements. The successful candidate is required to demonstrate flexibility by working within a service which runs over a 7 day week. Furthermore, the successful candidate will be expected where necessary to engage in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in order to achieve the needs of the service.
