To provide leadership and advice across the East Kent hospitals in support of efficient and effective patient flow that facilitates the achievement of the performance and quality standards of the Trust, especially emergency performance. To ensure 24-hour provision of service, through the use of proactive site management, patient flow and capacity utilisation, in line with Trust and national guidelines. To ensure own and Clinical Site Management Team's compliance with all Trust policies, particularly the Rhythm of the Day, Patient Access Bed Allocation Operating Procedure, Integrated Discharge Policy, Trust Capacity & Demand Escalation Plan, Inter-site Transfer Policy and all relevant clinical policies. To provide initial site leadership for the management and response to incidents occurring within the hospital, outside of normal working hours (i.e.: arrest calls, security incidents, fire calls, trauma calls, serious clinical incidents / complaints and serious incidents). Qualifications and Training

Evidence of Post-registration experience, ideally 2 years at Band 6, evidence of NMC registration. Previous experience working in Clinical Site Management. Evidence of developed interpersonal skills. Demonstrates skills in management and leadership. Evidence of post-registration education in accordance with PREP requirements to degree level or equivalent. Qualified to or prepared to work towards Masters level. Clinical Skills and experience

Able to exercise initiative and work independently to achieve objectives within deadlines. Liaise with members of the multi-professional team both within the organisation and with external stakeholders, to ensure continuity is maintained and patient flow is maximised. Ability to engage team in achieving goals and objectives via a clear, shared nursing vision. Able to demonstrate good organisational skills. Ability to problem solve, anticipate and forward plan. The ability to communicate effectively and record data through various IT systems and packages. Professional outlook to role and responsibilities. Understanding of how patient flow and capacity management supports safe and effective patient care. Understand clinical issues and their implications for practice. Understand service developments and national initiatives. Understanding and insight into current issues in nursing and NHS Management processes and procedures. NHS data standards and terminology, including clinical datasets. Knowledge of LEAN analysis techniques, statistical methods. Knowledge of project management methodologies.
